FAQs

How are orders packed?

Every order made on Sugi Ceramics is packaged with utmost care and packaging. Each piece is individually wrapped in layers of recyclable and reusable honeycomb craft paper and placed in a cardboard box filled with packing peanuts. Fun fact: The packing peanuts are biodegradable, meaning that they can be dissolved if put in water or reused for other packaging needs! Lastly, the boxes are securely sealed with water-activated tape for a smooth commute to your home!

What shipping options do you offer?

Sugi Ceramics offers Domestic Shipping, International Worldwide Shipping, and Local Pickup in Scarborough (by request only, please email sugi.ceramics@gmail.com beforehand for details). All shipped orders are tracked and you'll be provided with a tracking link upon fulfilment of your order :)

My piece arrived damaged, what should I do?

While every order is securely packaged to the best of my abilities, I cannot guarantee what happens once the package has been dropped off at the shipping facility :( In the unfortunate event that your piece arrives damaged, please email sugi.ceramics@gmail.com with photos of the damages within 2 days of receiving it and we can try to work something out!

What's your return policy?

Every piece on Sugi Ceramics is completely handmade from a ball of stoneware clay and comes with its own flaws and imperfections. Due to its handmade nature, each piece is truly unique and there are no two pieces that look identical. Pieces with notable and significant flaws are noted in the product description and as such, orders are final and non-refundable. Exchanges may be arranged by emailing sugi.ceramics@gmail.com but please note that you will be responsible for covering the shipping costs for returning ands shipping the two pieces.

Prior to placing an order, please ensure that you've reviewed any highlighted flaws and photos to get the most accurate idea of the piece that you'll be receiving.

How do I care for a Sugi Ceramics piece?

As all pieces are handmade with care and due to its delicate nature, it's recommended to hand wash pieces with warm soapy water as opposed to using a dishwasher. When packing ceramics for transport, wrapping them in bubble wrap, newspaper, or packing foam will help ensure that it makes it to its destination safely :)

Do you accept custom orders?

As of now, I'm not accepting custom orders but will hopefully be able to open up a limited number of custom order slots every few months when my availability and schedule allows me to do so :)
